Cowra Council trading as Cowra Van Park (the Principal) are seeking park management service providers.  The service provider (the Contractor) undertakes the day to day management of the park in accordance with the park management agreement. 

DO NOT contact the Park, all enquiries and inspections must be directly with Cowra Council.  Unauthorised contact with the Park managers may void your application.

 Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for contract management of the picturesque Cowra Van Park on the Lachlan River.  The role is hands-on, full time contract with accommodation provided.  The Park has approximately 80 sites located on the bank of the Lachlan River.  The park provides a range of sites and accommodation, including 11 cabins.

The core operational responsibilities include:

  • Engaging & managing staff
  • Housekeeping
  • Grounds maintenance
  • Repairs & maintenance
  • Financial management (budgeting, planning)
  • Waste management
  • Engaging suppliers
  • Managing security and antisocial behaviour
  • Local marketing
  • Guest engagement
  • Various ad hoc tasks

Job Requirements

We strongly encourage applicants with customer service and hospitality background to apply.  Whilst Caravan Park industry experience is well regarded, it is not always essential.  Where applicants demonstrate the following, they will likely be competitive:

  • Ability to multi-task in peak season

  • Experience with Microsoft suite, RMS reservations system essential
  • Purchasing experience & ability to manage costs within a budget

About the Tender Process

The Tender process allows the Principal to obtain the best park management services, in a competitive manner.  The Tender closes 3pm Friday 5 July 2019.  In summary, the process for applicants is as follows:

  2. Read & understand the Tender requirements
  3. Make your submission by closing time and date

Once the submission is received, the panel will make an assessment of your submission.  The Panel will shortlist applicants based on an assessment of the written submission.  These applicants will be asked to attend a face to face interview in Cowra, and to undertake further assessments.
