Job Description

Talaroo Hot Springs (caravan Park) is a start-up operation located on Gulf Development Road (Savannah Way) near Mount Surprise in the Gulf of North Queensland.  We are seeking a management couple with extensive experience in the management and caretaking of camping and caravan parks.  This is a great opportunity for a motivated couple to experience the diversity of outback Queensland and to part of an exciting new eco and cultural tourism venture. The position involves a range of duties and is a very hands-on role.  In addition to managing the camping/caravan facility, its cafe and tours, you will also have the opportunity to work with Ewamian Rangers who are based at Talaroo and are responsible or the management of the conservation and cultural values of the property. This position reports to the management of Ewamian Aboriginal Corporation.

Reception/Café/Admin role:

Duties include all aspects of managing the facility including front office and reception, café duties and food preparation, managing the tours and guides to deliver, filling in on tours as required, cleaning, stock ordering, managing staff, and night duty.

Maintenance/Groundskeeping role:

Maintaining park grounds, hot springs, gardens, tour facilities and equipment, maintaining plant and equipment, general repairs, pool maintenance, managing staff and night duty.

 

The successful applicants will be energetic and have a flexible attitude to industry hours as well as strong administration, customer service, and trade skills. This position is seasonal and the business will operate from March to October annually.

Position Description

  • Cleaning of public amenities
  • Operating small kiosk/ café
  • Taking reservations for accommodation and tours 
  • Tour Guiding
  • Completion of maintenance and work logs
  • Checking guests in/ out 
  • General Caravan Park office duties
  • Enforcing park and Hot Springs rules
  • Liaison with visitors via phone & email.
  • Demonstrate good general maintenance and handyman abilities. A trade certificate would be desirable but is not essential.
  • Flexible attitude to work, and work hours 
  • Effective problem solving
  • Be innovative in ideas to grow business
