Job Description

The Grounds & Maintenance Officer (GMO) role is a crucial role at Sandy Bay Holiday Park.

Reporting into the Park Manager the GMO is  able to work autonomously and as part of a team. He/she will be responsible for general maintenance of our holiday park as well as the overall upkeep and improvement of our grounds and gardens.

The GMO must enjoy working around people and be able to communicate easily and confidently. He/she will take pride in their appearance, have an eye for detail, have a passion for maintenance, grounds and gardens, and a willingness to learn and apply learnt knowledge.

Job Requirements

The GMO will be competent in the use of items such as:

  • Ride on mowers
  • Hedge trimmers
  • Whipper snippers
  • Chainsaws
  • Power tools

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Must possess a current “C” class driver’s license
  • Have the ability to Problem Solve and deal with situations in a rational manner
  • Excellent People skills
  • General Maintenance/handyman and grounds keeping skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Must be Clean, Tidy and meticulous when looking after equipment
  • Proven honesty, reliability & loyalty

 

 

 

DUTIES

  • Ensure the park appearances are maintained to high standard
  • Day to day management of all aspects of maintenance for the property answerable direct to the Park manager
  • Rubbish collection & disposal
  • Undertaking general onsite maintenance and preventative maintenance
  • Basic Electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical work
  • Maintain vehicles and onsite equipment 

MANAGE A QUALITY CUSTOMER FOCUS

  • Monitor, identify and meet the needs of customers
  • Ensure strong customer relationships are developed and maintained
  • Maintain a warm, friendly environment

GENERAL

  • Ensure personal grooming standards are maintained
  • Report all incidents and malfunction of plant and equipment to the park manager
  • Follow emergency procedures and OH & S rules and laws in accordance with the direction of management and the parks policy
  • Work as loyal and dedicated member of the parks team
  • Other duties as directed
